Cloud Battery

FAQ 🙋🏻‍♂️

Do you have a setup guide?

Yes. The Cloud Battery guide covers iCloud setup, adding devices, alerts, widgets, sharing, App Shortcuts, and supported accessories.

Cloud Battery Guide

Which platforms does Cloud Battery support?

Cloud Battery is available across supported Apple platforms: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. iPhone, iPad, and Mac are the main places to add and sync devices. Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro are useful for quick viewing, widgets, complications, and synced battery dashboards.

Can Cloud Battery track AirPods and Bluetooth accessories?

Cloud Battery can track supported accessories when the operating system exposes their battery level. Cloud Battery Mac can read AirPods connected to the Mac and compatible Bluetooth accessories that macOS exposes. iPhone and iPad can add compatible BLE accessories such as Apple Pencil and other devices that expose battery data.

If an accessory does not appear, connect it in system Bluetooth settings, keep it awake and nearby, then try again. Some accessories do not expose battery data to third-party apps.

Why does it say No iCloud Account even though I am logged into iCloud?

Cloud Battery requires iCloud Drive and Cloud Battery's iCloud access to be enabled. Open system settings, check Apps Using iCloud, and make sure Cloud Battery is turned on for the Apple ID you want to use.

Why won't my Cloud Battery Refresh?

The most common reasons are a poor internet connection, iCloud being unavailable, iCloud Drive being disabled, or Cloud Battery not being allowed to refresh in the background. Cloud Battery can keep showing cached battery levels while it waits for the next successful iCloud sync.

Why are my devices lagging behind what they actually are?

Cloud Battery refresh timing is controlled by the operating system. Low Power Mode, network problems, recently restarted devices, background refresh limits, and inactive widgets can all delay updates.

Widgets, Apple Watch complications, and App Shortcuts can help the system refresh more often. Automations are especially useful around charging events and battery thresholds.

Using App Shortcuts

How Can I Add the Cloud Battery Widget?

Add Cloud Battery from the system widget picker on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Vision Pro. Cloud Battery also includes Lock Screen widgets and Apple Watch complications. Home Screen and Mac widgets can be configured with selected devices, sorting, filtering, names, and an Image or Percent display style.

Can I share a device with someone else?

Yes. You can share battery status for devices you own using iCloud sharing. People you share with can view the shared battery status, but they cannot manage notifications for a device they do not own.

How do App Shortcuts work?

Cloud Battery exposes shortcuts for getting a battery level, finding a battery by device name, and syncing battery levels. You can run them from Shortcuts, ask Siri, or add them to personal automations.

Things are going very wrong.

First check iCloud Drive, Cloud Battery's iCloud permission, notification permission, and network access. If the device list is still wrong, refresh from Cloud Battery or use the reset action in the add panel. You can also submit a bug report from Cloud Battery settings.
